A9-rated cut protection

Explore the System

BONDERKAGE’S ASPIDA A9 cut protection is engineered for comfort without compromise. A single-layer construction delivers ANSI A9 protection built without glass or steel fibers so it won’t itch, shift, or distract during play.

ENGINEERED FOR PERFORMANCE

Base Layer

Technical performance base layer is designed to wick moisture, control odor, and move naturally with the body.

Four-way stretch fabric delivers breathable comfort without restriction.

A9 CUT PROTECTION WHERE ITMATTERS MOST

Cut Protection

A9 cut-resistant materials are strategically placed where skate-blade injuries are most likely to occur, delivering maximum protection while preserving flexibility and range of motion.

Protection is engineered into the fabric itself integrated seamlessly, not layered on so performance and mobility are never compromised.

Why A9 Matters

A9 is the highest level of cut protection under ANSI standardized testing, offering the strongest available defense against skate blade contact.

Powered by ASPIDA®, our proprietary A9 cut-protection fabric engineered for fit, comfort, and performance.

Designed specifically for skate-blade cut protection.

BONDERKAGE fabrics are built to resist slicing and laceration from skate blades. While no fabric is completely cut-proof, A9 provides the highest level of protection available and is designed to protect in the vast majority of on-ice incidents.

Important: A9 cut protection fabric is not designed to be stab-proof or protect against puncture forces.

PROTECTION FOR HOCKEY’S MOST VULNERABLE ZONES

TARGETED PROTECTION ZONES

A9 cut protection fabric is strategically placed in high-risk areas such as the wrist, Achilles, calf, and neck where skate-blade injuries most commonly occur. Protection is added only where it’s needed, maintaining comfort, mobility, and performance.

Injury data, athlete movement, real-world use cases.

From research to production, every decision follows the same system logic.

1. Discover & Define

We analyze injury data, movement patterns, and game situations to identify where protection is needed most by position, level of play, and style of movement.

2. Design & Engineer

Base layers, A9 cut-protection materials, and impact zones are engineered as a system balancing protection, mobility, and comfort without overbuilding.

3. Test & Validate

Products are tested against recognized safety standards and validated in real-world conditions to ensure consistent, repeatable performance on the ice.

Manufacture & Scale

4. Manufacture & Scale

Products are tested against recognized safety standards and validated in real-world conditions to ensure consistent, repeatable performance on the ice. Our cut protection fabrics are independently tested by CTT, one of the only accredited cut-testing facilities in North America.

Clear Protection Levels

Straightforward A9 ratings and system language make it easy to explain protection to customers.

Predictable Fit & Performance

Consistent construction across runs means fewer returns and more confident recommendations.
